Purpose: Treats domestic/municipal wastewater (from toilets, kitchens, bathrooms).
Main Objective: Remove organic matter, solids, pathogens, and make water reusable.
Most Used Types:
MBR (Membrane Bioreactor): Compact, high-quality treated water.
MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor): Easy to operate, low maintenance.
SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor): Time-based batch treatment.
ASP (Activated Sludge Process): Traditional, cost-effective.
Common Users: Residential societies, hotels, hospitals, townships.
ETP – Effluent Treatment Plant
Purpose: Treats industrial wastewater that contains harmful chemicals, toxins, and oil.
Main Objective: Meet pollution control norms before discharge or reuse.
Most Used Types:
Physico-Chemical Treatment + Biological Treatment
CETP (Common Effluent Treatment Plant): Shared by industrial clusters.
Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP): For complex pollutants.
Common Users: Factories (textile, pharma, food, metal, chemical plants).
WTP – Water Treatment Plant
Purpose: Purifies raw water (from river, lake, borewell) for human or industrial consumption.
Main Objective: Remove suspended solids, bacteria, hardness, iron, etc.
Most Used Types:
Conventional WTP (Sedimentation + Filtration + Chlorination)
Pressure Sand Filter + Activated Carbon Filter
UF (Ultrafiltration) Based WTP
